Prior to Admission

  • Complete EKU's Admissions application at www.eku.edu/futurestudents/.

  • Submit a $30 application fee to:
    Office of Admissions
    Eastern Kentucky University
    521 Lancaster Avenue
    Richmond, KY 40475-3102
  • Request that an official copy of all of your college transcripts be sent directly to the Office of Admissions. The transcript(s) must be sent directly from the college(s) to EKU to be considered "official."

Transferring in less than 24 hours also requires official high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores.

A final official transcript must also be sent upon completion of any courses in progress.
  • Check admission status by going to www.eku.edu/futurestudents/ or by calling (859) 622-2106.

After Admission

  • Within 10 working days, after being admitted to EKU, you will receive a CARES Report (EKU's degree audit report) and other information regarding advising and course registration.
  • Evaluated transfer course work will be listed on your CARES report. Contact your assigned academic advisor. Your academic advisor's contact information is listed near the top of your CARES Report. For instructions on how to view and interpret your CARES report, please click here.

  • After meeting with an advisor, reviewing your CARES Report and selecting courses, the advisor will provide you a Registration Access Code (RAC), which allows you to register for classes. Registration is completed using EKUDirect, the University's web-based student data system.

Click here to find out when you can register.

  • Advising and Registration programs are provided for transfer students. You are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions. During the program you will meet with an academic advisor, receive assistance in choosing your courses and training in the use of the EKUDirect student data system. You will receive information about advising and registration programs from the Office of First Year Programs shortly after admission.
